Day 13 ~ February Challenge 28-in-28 Days

Winter Lakeshore 10" x 10"
Today was a great day to be painting outdoors. The sun was warm and the temperature around 42. I sat at the end of the dock and painted the long shadows of the trees acroos the snow-covered ice.  The shoreline weeds sticking up above the ice were catching the sun's rays and the sky was deep blue with wispy clouds

BUFFLEHEADS 6 x 6

We frequently have migratory birds and ducks stop off for a few days in the Spring on their way farther North.  A harbinger of Spring  they grace us with their presence for a few days and then one morning we wake up to discover they have moved on. This 6 x 6" pastel painting is for sale unframed, $60. To purchase click the link below:

Buffleheads 6 x 6"

These Buffleheads were on our lake only a few days before migrating farther north. I knew they wouldn't be here long so I watched them as much as I could.

Blue Waltz 18.5 x 9

Picking up the bright color theme again....the winter doldrums are setting in. The calendar may say it's Spring, but yesterday we had another winter storm, complete with rain, sleet, snow, slush, thunder and lightning. It might be cold and dreary outside, but my eyes were on these intense colors for several hours....ah, art therapy!
