We had very little snow this year so the landscape was mostly browns and grays. Here the pines and the blue of the water with the icy edge provided a bit of color.

I often listen to books on tape while I paint....I was listening to "The Secret Life of Bees" while painting this one. The subject of this painting is the Parfrey's Glen Area of the Devil's Lake State Park near Baraboo, Wisconsin. As a member of www.PaintTheParks.com I will donate 10% of the sale of this painting to the Ice Age Trail - National Scenic Trails.
